Learn Guitar with Sam

Sam Nelms is a Grade 8 electric guitarist who plays acoustic, electric and bass guitars. He started learning guitar aged 8 and has a true passion for the instrument.

He is inspired by guitarists such as Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and Eddie Van Halen, and loves nothing more than complicated riffs and impressive solos!

As well as teaching and studying, Sam works as a session guitarist for theatre productions, and volunteers for Bradford and Airedale Youth Choir. Sam has an enhanced DBS and is a fully insured member of the Musician's Union

Sam teaches all levels, from beginner to Grade 8. Learn electric or bass guitar (beginners can start on an acoustic guitar). You will need your own guitar. Leads and amps are provided.

Work with chords, scales, modes, improvisation, tab, and more. Sam will support you to learn in whatever way suits you best, working towards your personal goals.

Sam's heart is in instrumental rock but he plays and teaches a wide range of styles, from jazz and blues to pop, rock and metal.

"Sam works brilliantly with the children and young people at BAYC. He is always welcoming and approachable. His gentle manner instantly puts the children at ease and he is a fantastic role model"

Emma Bradnum, Musical Director, Bradford and Airedale Youth Choir
